Makarska

Makarska sits about an hour-plus down the coast from Split Airport, beneath the dramatic wall of the Biokovo mountains — and that distance is exactly where public transport lets beach holidaymakers down. Connecting an airport bus to a coastal bus with a week's worth of luggage and a family in tow is nobody's idea of a good start. Getting to and from Makarska

We run direct transfers from Split Airport (and Split city or its ferry port) along the coast road to Makarska and the string of resorts on the Makarska Riviera. Your driver meets you with a name sign, helps with the luggage and takes you to the exact address — useful when you're booked into an apartment up one of the town's steep streets. From Makarska we also reach the riviera villages, and the ferry port for crossings to the island of Brač.

About Makarska

Makarska is the main town of the Makarska Riviera, a celebrated stretch of central-Dalmatian coast where pebble beaches and pine shade sit directly beneath the soaring grey limestone of Biokovo. The town curves around a sheltered harbour bay, with a lively palm-lined promenade, a Franciscan monastery and an old core behind the seafront. It's the hub for the riviera resorts — Brela, Baška Voda, Tučepi, Podgora and beyond — and a gateway both to the Biokovo nature park above and to Brač across the channel.
