Murter

Murter is one of those islands that feels remote but is genuinely easy to reach by car: it is linked to the mainland by a small bridge at Tisno, so you drive straight onto it without ever queuing for a ferry. The challenge is the journey itself, since the island sits off the main routes and public transport to it is sparse and largely seasonal. Getting to and from Murter

Murter is well placed between two airports, with both Split Airport and Zadar Airport within reach by road. From either, the route runs to the small bridge at Tisno, which our transfer crosses directly onto the island — there is no ferry and no sailing to catch. From there we continue to the main settlements, including Murter town, Betina, Jezera and Tisno itself, as well as the quieter coves used for self-catering holidays and for sailing trips into the nearby Kornati area.

About Murter

Murter is a small island in the Šibenik archipelago of northern Dalmatia, connected to the mainland by the bridge at Tisno. It is best known as the main gateway to the Kornati islands, the scattered, largely uninhabited archipelago that draws sailors and day-trippers, and many boats set out from Murter's harbours. The island has a relaxed, low-key feel, with a handful of villages, a strong tradition of boatbuilding around Betina, and a coastline of small bays popular for quiet beach holidays. Its bridge access and its position between Split and Zadar make it a sensible candidate for a single door-to-door transfer rather than a string of connecting services.
