Podgora

Podgora is a beach village strung along the Makarska Riviera, set between the pebbly Adriatic shore and the great wall of the Biokovo mountain rising behind it. It is a beautiful place to wake up, but the journey there can be the least relaxing part of a holiday. Flights arrive well to the north, and the coastal buses that thread along the riviera keep to the main road and their own timetable, never quite to your apartment door. Getting to and from Podgora

The gateway for Podgora is Split Airport, with the drive following the coast south past Makarska and along the foot of Biokovo. It is a single, comfortable journey from terminal to door.

Podgora is a long, low village on the Makarska Riviera in central Dalmatia, where a string of beaches and small coves meets the steep slopes of the Biokovo massif. The dramatic backdrop of the mountain, often catching the light above the rooftops, gives the place much of its character, while the shore offers the clear water and pebbly beaches the riviera is known for. It has the feel of a relaxed seaside resort rather than a historic town, well suited to a summer base by the sea with the bigger town of Makarska close at hand and the mountain trails of Biokovo above.
