Rijeka

Rijeka's nearest airport is the slightly confusing one: it is on the island of Krk, reached over the Krk Bridge, with only sparse buses to match the flights. Add a busy working port and a city built up the slopes of a deep harbour, and arriving without a plan quickly gets awkward — you can find yourself stranded between an island airport and a mainland city with no obvious link.
